BS(MT) or BS in Toxicology, Pharmacy, Chemistry , biological science or a minimum of 90 semester hours by a regionally accredited college or university, and successful completion of a course or training of at least 12 months in a school of medical technology or training in a medical laboratory, and/or experience as outlined in CLIA standard for highly complex testing.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Medical Technologist 0-4 years experience in a highly automated, laboratory technical background in SCIEX LC-MS/MS technology. Reasonable knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology (centrifuge, pH meter, analytical balance, fume hood, etc) Knowledge of good laboratory practices and Regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, NYS, etc) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent written and oral communication skills (documentation, record keeping, presentations, etc) Ability to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dilutions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Proficiency testing knowledge.
