The Center for Forensic Sciences is seeking a Research Forensic Scientist to develop, execute and interpret standards for analytical testing (e.g., drug testing in urine, oral fluid, hair, and other body fluids).He/she will perform forensic science research tasks, applying standard and established theories, concepts, and techniques, while occasionally employing innovative approaches.
Across the full range of forensic disciplines from toxicology to DNA and fingerprints, we employ rigorous, multidisciplinary approaches to meet the unique, complex needs of clients in government, education, and private industry.
As lead implementer of the National Institute of Justice’s Forensic Technology Center of Excellence, we identify and transfer new technology into practice in crime laboratories. Our online training platform is a national resource of the latest information on science and technology for the forensic science community.
Through our toxicology proficiency testing and leadership of the National Laboratory Certification Program, we ensure accurate drug testing programs and serve as the gold standard in laboratory certification, helping to protect employers, donors, and the public. Our team pursues better collection and processing of sexual assault kits in hopes of minimizing delays in the justice system and securing justice for sexual assault survivors. We also provide quality assurance and proficiency test samples for a wide range of clients and sample types, prepared in our ISO Guide 34–compliant laboratory facilities.
