To us, it’s more than a result! We seek outstanding individuals to assist in providing the services of our toxicology laboratory combined with resources and education for our clients.

•Essential functions:

Receives and unpacks specimens when delivery arrives at the laboratory.
•Reviews requisitions for completeness and accuracy and inspects specimens for testing suitability.
•Matches specimens to respective requisitions.
•Pours specimen aliquots into appropriate containers for Screening and Extraction.
•Enters patient order information into the LIS and generates bar-coded labels. Proficiently uses the LIS and other business & technical software
•Affixes bar-code labels to requisitions, original specimens, and any aliquots, ensuring information on the new label matches the information on the original specimen label and on the requisition.
•Reviews the data entry work of others to ensure accuracy.
•Organizes specimens and/or aliquots by testing panel and prepares for entry into LIS system.
•Contacts Customer Service to resolve discrepancies and to report specimen quality issues.
•Properly stores specimens in refrigerator. Transports specimens to frozen storage facility and records freezer temperatures correctly.
•Maintains various log sheets as required for QC/QA reporting.
•Participates in quality assurance monitors. Collects information as requested.
•Properly operates and maintains laboratory equipment, to include PC’s & printers, refrigerators & freezers, balance, centrifuges, water baths, heat blocks, pH meter, water purification system, pipettes, thermometers, hoods, sonicators, and other equipment as needed.
•Makes calculations and prepares solutions and dilutions.
•Sequences batches, processes calibration curves, and analyzes calibrators, QC, and test samples.
•Reads, interprets, and reviews report data
•Participates in training new employees.
•Stores and maintains equipment/supplies in an organized manner & participates in inventory control & resupply.
•Accepts and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
•Using extraction and elution techniques sequences and prepares samples, calibrators, QC, and standards for confirmation testing.
•Participates in new method development.
•Reads and complies with all appropriate safety and security policies/procedures, to include the proper use of PPE and appropriate dress for the job.
•Complies with HIPPA regulations to safeguard confidentiality of patient information. Ensures patient information is shared only with those with a need to know.
•Maintains confidentiality of company information.
•Adjusts work schedule to fit the needs of the organization.
•Represents the Laboratory in a professional manner
•Minimum qualifications:
•AS degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology , or
•BS degree in medical technology/clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.
•If an MLT or MT, must have passed the ASCP (or equivalent) registry examination.
•Must learn new skills quickly and retain information.
•Prefer some experience in a similar or equivalent work environment.
•Some medical terminology knowledge.
•Working knowledge in use of a PC and Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).
•Adequate typing speed — able to do basic typing without looking at keyboard.
•Must be able to sit or stand for up to two hours without a break or change in position. Some walking or equivalent mobility required.
•Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
•Possess adequate visual acuity to read requisitions & other documents, printed labels, and a computer screen.
•Ability to take direction and work as a team towards a common goal with other employees.
•Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
•Ability to work well under pressure and maintain emotional composure.
•Excellent communication and interactive skills, especially when dealing with the Customer Service Department.
•Ability to identify and appropriately resolve problems. Uses good judgment.
•Must be dependable and conduct oneself in a mature, responsible manner. Possess a strong work ethic.
•THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION - 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM

•MLT or MT and passed ASCP: 1 year
•BS in Laboratory Science or Laboratory Technology: 1 year
