The Company:
USDTL is a specialty forensic laboratory pioneering drug testing in alternate specimens. Along with traditional specimen testing such as urine and blood, we are leading the laboratory industry in substance abuse toxicology in umbilical cord, fingernail, meconium, and hair testing. We provide laboratory services for healthcare facilities, child protection agencies, the Department of Defense, legal services, research partners, businesses, and analytical and forensic laboratories.

Educational Requirements:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution with a relevant chemical, physical, biological, pharmaceutical sciences, or laboratory science degree, AND be certified and continue to be certified by a board approved by HHS. Preference given to American Board of Forensic Toxicology (F-ABFT), American Board of Clinical Chemistry in toxicological chemistry, or clinical chemistry, OR having a minimum of 2 years of documented post doctoral experience in a forensic toxicology laboratory.

Position Functions/Tasks:
Oversees Laboratory Managers and their day-to-day operations
Ensuring equipment and instrument are properly maintained at a defined frequency of maintenance, repair, and documented in the appropriate manner
Ensuring records of all aspects of testing activities are maintained
Maintaining current job descriptions
Monitoring troubleshooting when issues arise
Monitoring root cause analysis and corrective action reports as needed
Reviewing Instrument Performance Verification reports
Reviewing Annual Method Verification reports
Conducting professional development of Laboratory Managers
Responsible for performance reviews of Laboratory Managers
Providing training to Laboratory Managers
Evaluating and documenting the competency of all Laboratory Managers
After non-conformance is evaluated and corrective actions are taken, authorize that the process is resumed to perform regular testing procedures
Responsible for projects delegated by Laboratory Director
